Rebates for Energy Efficiency Measures in
Agricultural/Food Processing Facilities

Ag Efficiency Plus offers rebates on hundreds of eligible measures, from common lighting applications to specialized processing ones. A measure is a unit of energy-efficient (sometimes called premium efficiency) equipment that uses less energy than standard equipment. The program offers cash rebates for two types of measures: Itemized measures you simply choose off a list, install, and submit claim, and Calculated measures we help you customize for your facility. Itemized measures are the fast track to cash. Calculated measure rebates take more time to qualify but usually provide a higher reward.

ITEMIZED (EXPRESS EFFICIENCY) MEASURES
Itemized measures are pre-specified. Their estimated energy savings have been well documented at levels likely to be realized under common facility operating conditions. Using lighting, for example, average hours of lighting use is assumed and provides the basis for the expected energy savings and the rebate a customer can receive. The list of Itemized measures is extensive and covers seven types of applications in agricultural facilities. And applying for an Itemized measure rebate is as simple as installing a qualified energy efficiency measure and filling out the claim application.

CALCULATED (SPC) MEASURES
Calculated measures are custom. If a facility uses specialized equipment and/or operates under a schedule or conditions that is not typical of other agricultural producers or processors, a customer might find the additional requirements of applying for a Calculated measure rebate well worth it. Rebates are calculated based on the energy savings calculated to come from the project.
